Why it happens
Why successful people burn out
Many high achievers unknowingly organize their lives around fear, pressure and control. It works, for a while. The career grows, the recognition comes, and the cost stays hidden.
That fear shows up in two ways. Reaching: chasing the next goal, the next approval, the next bit of certainty. Resisting: pushing back against change, discomfort, or what's already true. Both create friction, and friction drains energy that should be going into living.
More productivity tips won't fix it. Seeing the pattern will. When you can notice reaching and resisting as they happen, you can let them go, and energy you didn't know you'd lost starts coming back.
Not because something is wrong with you. Because part of you is still trying to survive when you're ready to thrive.

Questions
Frequently asked
- What's the difference between burnout coaching and therapy?
- Therapy diagnoses and treats mental health conditions. Coaching is forward-focused: building awareness of the patterns that drain your energy and changing how you respond. Many people benefit from both.
- How long does the coaching take?
- The core journey is 10 sessions. Most people start with the 60-minute Alignment Assessment to see what's creating friction before committing.
- Do I need to quit my job?
- No. Most clients keep their careers. What changes is how they carry them, with less friction and more energy.
- Do you meet in person?
- Yes, in Kirkland and across the Eastside, including Bellevue and Redmond. Online sessions by video are available anywhere.
